Timeless Tastes Itinerary

Description

The publication aims to promote the cultural, gastronomic, and natural potential of Kurbin as an integrated tourist destination. It highlights the beauty of the Patok Lagoon, where nature and seafood combine to offer a unique experience, as well as the richness of the Olive Route in the villages of Gjorm, Zhejë, and Shënmri, where visitors can discover millennia-old olive trees and traditional olive oil production methods.

The brochure also showcases the area’s religious and cultural heritage through landmarks such as the Church of “Our Lady of Good Counsel”, the Church of St. Anthony, the Shullazi Tekke, and the ruins of the Church of St. Mary—restored thanks to the EU4Culture program after the damages caused by the 2019 earthquake.

In addition to gastronomy, it promotes agritourism, guesthouses, and traditional festivals that preserve the hospitality and identity of Kurbin.

This publication serves as a practical guide for visitors, tour operators, and travel agencies to design itineraries that intertwine history, nature, and authentic Albanian flavors.

This publication was prepared by the ALCDF Foundation in the framework of the project “Timeless Tastes: Promoting the Culinary and Tradition of Kurbin”, supported by the EU4Culture programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNOPS in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
