Emrie
Lata lives in the village of Staravec, a place known for its beautiful nature.
She mainly deals with the production of terhana and the processing of fruits,
transforming them into delicious and healthy products such as jam and compote.
One
of the most special and traditional products that Emrie produces is terhanaja,
a food that has a great importance in Albanian cuisine. Terhanaja is a mixture
of yeast, yogurt and flour, which is then fermented and serves as a delicious
and nutritious dish, especially in the winter.
Emrie
is also very well known for her ability to process the fruits that she grows in
her garden. Most of the fruits she uses are natural and organic, which grow in
the rich climate of Staravec. The fruits are carefully picked at the right
time, when they are at their peak of flavor and sweetness, then she prepares
jam and compote which she sells several times at local markets and sometimes at
fairs.
