Project Overview

wISHfUl – ICT for Smart Healthcare Tourism explored how digital technology could connect healthcare services and tourism experiences across the programme area.

The initiative created a collaborative regional approach combining territorial health expertise, cultural heritage and tourism services through an integrated ICT platform.

What We Did

The project developed a digital platform capable of connecting tourism and healthcare offers with the specific needs of different user groups.

Three principal tourism models were explored: tourism linked to recognized healthcare excellence, tourism adapted for people with chronic health conditions and tourism accessible to people with disabling conditions requiring specific services or routes.

Key Contribution

The project introduced an innovative approach to accessible and health-conscious tourism, demonstrating how technology can support highly personalized visitor experiences.

It also encouraged cooperation across tourism, healthcare and cultural-heritage sectors within the Italy–Albania–Montenegro cooperation area.
