Project Overview

The Women's Empowerment in Dibër in Agritourism (WEDA) project strengthened women's economic participation and livelihood opportunities through agritourism, hospitality, traditional cuisine and rural entrepreneurship.

The initiative responded to the growing potential of Dibër as a rural tourism destination while addressing barriers affecting women's participation in local economic development.

What We Did

The project provided integrated agritourism capacity development to 100 rural women. Specialized workshops supported women working in hospitality and traditional culinary and catering services. These were complemented by business networking, product promotion, improved digital visibility and exposure to good practices in agritourism.

Women entrepreneurs were also connected with opportunities to promote their products and services through local events and tourism marketing channels.

Key Results

The project strengthened women's practical and entrepreneurial skills to improve services, attract clients, create business relationships and generate income through tourism and local products.

WEDA also increased the visibility and participation of rural women within Dibër's growing agritourism economy.
