Timeless Tastes: Indulge into the Flavors and Ballads of Kurbin
Promoted sustainable tourism and inclusive economic development in Kurbin by connecting culinary heritage, rural traditions and natural landscapes with green entrepreneurship and tourism.
Project Overview
Timeless Tastes promoted sustainable tourism and inclusive economic development in Kurbin by connecting the area's culinary heritage, rural traditions, natural landscapes and historical assets with new opportunities for green entrepreneurship and tourism.
The project placed local communities, particularly women and young people, at the centre of safeguarding and transforming Kurbin's cultural and gastronomic heritage into sustainable economic opportunities.
What We Did
Activities included culinary workshops, practical training in sustainable food preparation and documentation of local recipes and traditional food practices.
Women entrepreneurs received capacity development and energy-efficient equipment, while tourism stakeholders were supported in developing environmentally responsible tourism products.
The project also mapped eco- and agritourism assets, developed thematic itineraries, supported entrepreneurship training and promoted Kurbin through digital tools, tourism mapping and local events.
Key Contribution
By connecting cultural heritage, sustainable agriculture and responsible tourism, the project helped diversify Kurbin's tourism offer while creating opportunities for greener rural livelihoods.
It also strengthened intergenerational knowledge transfer and demonstrated how cultural heritage can contribute to inclusive and climate-resilient local economic development.
