Second Meeting with the Stakeholder Council at Mavrovo National Park

On 29.03.2024, the second meeting of the Stakeholder Council was held at Mavrovo National Park as part of the process of discussing findings, zoning, valuation study strategies, which is one of the steps in the management plan of this park, supported by Global Conservation, MED and the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning. The researchers presented the current findings with great professionalism to a broad audience of key local actors, who raised questions, held discussions and made suggestions. The model of participation of key actors in decision-making, the organization of the Stakeholder Council at Mavrovo National Park, the professionalism of scientific studies and research by the researchers, and cooperation with the park's management and administrative authorities is a good practice that will be shared with other protected areas in the Sharr-Korab massif to increase cross-border cooperation in this region, which is the focus of the project "Protection and Sustainable Use of Protected Areas in Sharr Mountain, Mavrovo and Korab-Koritnik", financed by the PONT program – Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust, implemented by ALCDF and partners CSCD and LAG Dibra Turistike.
