Support and assistance for improving monitoring processes in the Shar-Korab massif continues. On July 28, the project management team of "Protection and Sustainable Use of Protected Areas in Sharr Mountain, Mavrovo, and Korab-Koritnik" provided support to the Mavrovo National Park team with a new 4x4 motor vehicle, which together with drones and other equipment will increase the efficiency of monitoring protected areas. Monitoring equipment is essential in protected areas for tracking environmental changes, illegal activities, and the effectiveness of nature conservation efforts, contributing to improved information gathering, control, and enhancement of decision-making and natural resource management.

These equipment will assist in detecting and controlling illegal activities such as illegal hunting, indiscriminate harvesting of medicinal plants, logging, and illegal territorial violations. Furthermore, these tools will facilitate protected area teams in optimizing patrols by making them more efficient and effective, as well as increase safety in emergency situations by providing accurate information on the situation and enabling timely response to emergencies, with an impact on preventing accidents and occupational health problems for specialists and rangers of the Mavrovo National Park.

The 4x4 motorcycle is an additional tool for monitoring protected areas, which ensures superior control, allowing safer and more efficient navigation of various terrains within protected areas. They reach remote locations and broken terrain that may be inaccessible to traditional vehicles, facilitating comprehensive monitoring efforts.
