Meeting with the Mayor of Bogovinje Municipality within the framework of "Protection and sustainable use of transboundary protected areas in Shar Mountain, Mavrovo and Korab-Koritnik".

The meeting with the Mayor of Bogovinje Municipality in North Macedonia was held today in the office of the Mayor Mr. Besnik Emshiu and Mr. Shuip Marku, local coordinator of the project "Protection and sustainable use of transboundary protected areas in Shar Mountain, Mavrovo and Korab-Koritnik". The project seeks to improve good governance of the management of protected areas in Shar Mountain National Park, Mavrovo in the Republic of North Macedonia and Korab-Koritnik Natural Park in Albania. The inclusion of local actors in the management of protected areas is one of the challenges the project will address, to strengthen the connection of stakeholders with park management, and their active participation in the protection and valorization of the natural assets of these parks. This project is financed by the German Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust - PONT program, and is implemented by the Albanian Foundation for Development of Local Capacities (ALCDF), in partnership with local organizations Center for Community Sustainable Development (CSDC) in North Macedonia, and GLV "Dibra Turistike" in Albania.
