Meeting at the Sharr Mountain National Park Office on the Project "Protection and Sustainable Use of Transboundary Protected Areas in Sharr Mountain, Mavrovo, and Korab-Koritnik"
Sharr Mountain National Park is the newest national park in the Balkans, but with a passionate team it is achieving work of many years and with higher standards. Ibrahim Dehari is the director of the Park who, regardless of hierarchy, works in a team with Anela, Altin, and Arbenit to ensure that the entire population of 7 municipalities benefits from the natural beauty and resources of Sharr Mountain. The ALCDF team was yesterday at the offices of Sharr Mountain National Park to discuss the activities of the project "Protection and Sustainable Use of Transboundary Protected Areas in Sharr Mountain, Mavrovo, and Korab-Koritnik," and how to take concrete steps in improving good governance of protected area management in Sharr Mountain National Park, ensuring broad participation of local stakeholders in the management of protected areas. The meeting was open and included discussions on concrete cases and issues. The ALCDF team highly appreciates the welcoming and generous spirit of the Sharr Park team. We also had the opportunity to meet with friends of Mavrovo National Park at the Tourism Information Office, with Hamlet and his colleagues with whom we discussed the current situation and challenges of the park and protected areas in transboundary cooperation in the Sharr-Korab massif.
