Educational Activities in Sharr-Korab Protected Areas

Educational Activities in Sharr-Korab Protected Areas. The teams of protected areas, including the National Parks of Mavrova, Mali Sharr and Korab-Koritnik, have organized educational activities during this season. The focus of these activities was on raising public awareness, promoting environmental consciousness and promoting sustainable practices within and around the protected areas for local communities and schools. In the National Park Mali Sharr, practical educational activities have been organized in the community for protection against bears and wolves. Additionally, the National Park has begun installing electric fences in four villages, as a measure that protects both people and wildlife. The Mali Sharr team and partners are working on waste cleanup, creating a regular system for its collection and caring for bears to keep them away from settlements.

In the National Park of Mavrova, the ranger team welcomed and guided primary school students from "VΓ«llezΓ«rit Miladinovci" from Skopje, who visited the children's trail on a safari in the "Bunec" park. The students had the amazing opportunity to learn about the animal and plant world in the National Park "Mavrova". They also walked along the trail, where they learned important things about the protection of nature and rare species.

In Korab-Koritnik, both teams of the Protected Areas of KukΓ«s and Dibra have organized thematic sessions on protected areas in 9-year schools. Classes transformed into spaces where nature came alive through children's imagination and perception. They conveyed many messages by sharing information with the staff of the Korab-Koritnik National Park.

This information contributes to understanding the experiences being implemented in the Sharr-Korab area!
