Educating Youth with a Passion for Parks and Protected Areas. Supported by PONT

Educating youth with a passion for parks and protected areas. Environmental education of young people for knowledge of flora, fauna, and the importance of protected areas is an essential issue for schools, educational institutions, and ALCDF and its partners in the project "Protection and Sustainable Use of Protected Areas in Sharr Mountain, Mavrova and Korab-Koritnik". For this purpose, a series of educational activities with schools located in the areas of Korab-Koritnik Park and Mavrova have been organized with youth and students from these schools, including visits to tourist trails, educational lessons about protected areas, knowledge of natural monuments, training on climate change issues, exhibitions and fairs, as well as knowledge of monitoring methods in protected areas. These educational and awareness-raising activities aimed to increasingly connect practical environmental learning and to inspire youth with a passion for nature. These meetings were organized within the framework of the project "Protection and Sustainable Use of Protected Areas in Sharr Mountain, Mavrova and Korab-Koritnik", financed by the Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust program - PONT, with project implementers ALCDF Foundation and partners CSCD and LAG Dibra Turistike.
