Continuation of Meetings Within the Framework of the Project "Protection and Sustainable Use of Transboundary Protected Areas in Sharr Mountain, Mavrovo and Korab-Koritnik"

Meetings with key local stakeholders from the Project "Protection and Sustainable Use of Transboundary Protected Areas in Sharr Mountain, Mavrovo and Korab-Koritnik". The Albanian Foundation for Development of Local Capacities (ALCDF) and partner organization Center for Community Sustainable Development (CSDC) in North Macedonia continue meetings with key stakeholders for the implementation of the project "Protection and Sustainable Use of Transboundary Protected Areas in Sharr Mountain, Mavrovo and Korab-Koritnik". Meetings have been organized with the governing structures of Mavrovo National Park and Sharr Mountain National Park, as two of the main partners in the implementation of this project, where project activities, expectations, staff commitments were discussed and a cooperation agreement is expected to be signed between the parties, which also defines the principles and commitments of the parties.

Meetings have also been organized with local government units located in the territory of the parks, which are represented in the park management structures as well as in the interest-holder councils in each park. Meetings were held with representatives of the Municipality of Mavrovo & Rostushe, and the municipalities of Tetovo and Gostivar. Meetings have also been undertaken with representatives of civil society organizations operating in these territories such as those of the Bjeshkata Association and other associations. The project "Protection and Sustainable Use of Transboundary Protected Areas in Sharr Mountain, Mavrovo and Korab-Koritnik" contributes to good governance of the transboundary protected areas of the Sharr-Korab massif, and is financed by the German Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust - PONT program, and is implemented by the Albanian Foundation for Development of Local Capacities (ALCDF), in partnership with local organizations Center for Community Sustainable Development (CSDC) in North Macedonia, and GLV "Dibra Turistike" in Albania.
