The Project "Cross-border biking: Next level adventure tourism in Mavrovo - Rostushe & Diber" Financed by: The European Union represented by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of North Macedonia Cross-border Programme the Republic of North Macedonia – Albania under the Instrument of Pre-accession Assistance (IPA II) allocations for allocations 2016-2017

Overall objective: Further develop the economic sector of adventure tourism in Mavrovo-Rostushe and Diber cross border by creation of new active products and increasing the numbers of domestic and foreign visitors.
i. To increase the number of jobs for the inhabitants of Mavrovo-Rostushe & Diber region through improved touristic services/products
ii. To create business opportunities for service providers and tourism operators from both countries
iii. To promote Mavrovo-Rostushe and Diber cross border region as one adventure destination for active tourism.
Polog Region, population of Mavrovo and Rostushe Municipality Dibër Region population of Municipality of Dibër; All kinds of tourism service providers in both countries; Domestic and foreign tourist engaged in adventure activities in the Mavrovo-Rostushe and Diber cross border region; Local people with their facilities like (accommodation, restaurants, souvenir shops, supermarkets and small stores, info points and stores with home products) from Mavrovo-Rostushe and Diber cross border region; Local Businesses
Project duration: 30 months (1st January 2020 – 30 June 2022)
Budget: 677,729.00 €; EU contribution: 576,069.00 € (85%); EU contribution percentage: 85%

Brief Description of Contract Activities:
The project aims at further development of the tourism sector in the project zone through the achievement of the following results:
• Improved economic opportunities through job creation for residents of Mavrovo-Rostushe & Dibra;
• Improved infrastructure for the development of adventure tourism in the Mavrovo-Rostushe & Dibra project zone;
• Improved business opportunities in domestic tourism;
• Improved promotion of the Mavrovo-Rostushe & Diber cross-border region as ONE adventure tourism destination
