DibΓ«r, Albania (Korab Mountains)

This is just a piece of beauty from Dibra, I couldn't capture in a photo what the eye sees and the heart feels when looking at such landscapes. Thank you so much @cross_border_biking because perhaps without this collaboration I would not have experienced the hospitality in Peshkopi, in Rabdisht, in Ilnice, in Pejke and above all I would not have met Pajtim, Sabri, Ftesa and many other people who have shown me so much love and so much hospitality! Visit Dibra and climb up to the mountains by bicycle, hiking or 4x4 but don't miss the magic of spring. This is one of many photos that will be posted soon!

One of the tourist destinations you must visit this season is Dibra. There are so many outdoor sports you can do but what I want to focus on this time are the bicycle trails built by the @cross_border_biking project which connect Albania with Macedonia.

The first trail HinoskΓ«-IlnicΓ«-Melan is one of the most beautiful trails I have ever ridden a bicycle on. The trail is clean, visible, has alpine signage and information boards throughout. The trail level is moderate, in some parts there are tight turns and you will need some technique or you can reduce speed but you will enjoy it immensely. Nature, mountains half-covered with snow, blue forests, bird songs and along these 5.9 km descent you will encounter different terrains and so you will like it, above all I think it is the first trail in Albania created for mountain biking of this level.

HinoskΓ«-Rabdisht

This is the second trail opened by @cross_border_biking funded by the European Union. At first it gives the impression that it is difficult but no, good balance is enough and you will enjoy it immensely. The trail has alpine signage and is very visible, the views of mountains covered with snow you will leave behind and you will have only greenery and streams created by melting snow ahead. Later gradually you will notice the small village of Rabdisht. The trail is moderate level and in some places even though there is still snow the entire trail line is on the side of the mountain and all the peaks you will have ahead are unique. A trail I would return to again!

Where to stay in Peshkopi?

The first time I visited Peshkopi and villages like Rabdisht, Ilnice and Melan. In these areas the guesthouses are traditional, with details dating back more than 100 years. This time I decided to stay at Guesthouse Sabriu. Sabriu and Festa are a wonderful couple who with their generosity and hospitality make the stay so beautiful, you feel like you are in your own home, Sabriu's stories, jokes and discussions about tourism and the potential the area has made me understand how much love and passion they put into their work. They welcome foreign and Albanian tourists who come for the beauty of the mountains and for the bicycle trails, everything that is served is organic, apple juice, byrek, rakia, different jams, full pasta and much more. The rooms and every other space in the house is very clean and Sabriu and Festa are ready to help you with anything. I enjoyed the stay in this guesthouse so much, I was so satisfied with the generosity, respect and kindness, they were an example for tourism.

In these areas you can also choose to stay at Guesthouse Goleci, at Zerja or at Butterfly camping. Visit Peshkopi!
